The Dragon Within

So, finally on vacation, and let me tell you it feels really good. Although I planned to do nothing by relax, it seems that my family wants to do nothing but see me and I keep getting dragged out of the house when I want nothing more than to just sit around mine and just vegetate and maybe get some cleaning done. Maybe. Possibly. One day my room will be cleaned. One day.

Went to Borders and Borders Express yesterday to take advantage of their going out of business sale, which is really depressing to me because they are the only bookstores in the area. I bought a lot of books anyway, $100 at each store just about. I might go back if the sales go back up and pick up some hardcovers that I passed up this time, because hardcovers are expensive as all hell. And I did get a whole boxset...the first 6 books of Warriors. Yes, the cat books. Because if there's one thing that even comes close to my love/adoration for dragons, it's cats.

Also now have the complete Strawberry Panic! collection. It's the cutest shojou-ai in the world and I love it to pieces. I bought the completed manga volume a few months ago I believe and bought the complete novel collection during this binge. As far as manga goes, I didn't buy that much. Volume 4 of Kuroshitsuji and volume 9 of Silver Diamond. I think I'm missing volume 7 of Silver Diamond, but I need to check really bad. Still pissed that neither borders had II of Kizuna. :/ But both stores had 1 and 3. Fuckers.

But, I am going to a used book store I believe with a friend today. Which means even more reading material.

And this is all on top of the used books I bought a few weeks ago. I believe I have plenty of reading material now, although I finished a few of the used books, halfway through a book I bought the other day, and started on one of the other ones I bought.

Why yes, I read like, 7 books at once. I can't sit around and read just one at a time. XD

So, that's work. Otherwise, been kinda active and talking to people on Plurk...which I haven't done in too long of time. So I guess that's good. Been doodling with my tablet and haven't really been coming up with anything, which isn't surprising. Been playing a lot of Pokemon too, and got the Game Stop Celebi that apparently gives you a Pokemon in Black and White, like the other Pokemon that have been released. Which is cool because it's now my strongest Pokemon on my Diamond at level 50, which is awesome because that means I'm gonna kick some ass!

Also, finally caught up on all the episodes of Star Driver, which I have an OT3 for... Not sure if that's a good or bad thing as of yet. In other anime news, been rewatching Zoids: Fuzors because I love my giant robots. Especially giant robots that are KICK ASS.

In other news, my screen now has 50 bagillion Prussia and 2 Russia wandering around. Aka-my screen has overloaded with AWESOME.

Because I've been hermit again. Talking to my mom more which is a good thing I guess, she really wants me to go over and bake cookies. I think she's getting the empty nest syndrome. My poor mom...

Anyway, would talk about what work is doing, like my store manager threatening to take people off my shift since I take back booth down at 10 instead of midnight. And use my help to get cleaning done instead of apparently meeting McStandards (aka-times). Monday is going to be "fun". I really hope us midnight managers get that meeting with our store manager. Because as much as they want us to be gods, we are not. We are lowly mortals who must command the shift and make sure that everything runs smoothly and people get their food. And everything gets clean.

BUT INSTEAD I'M WAY TOO EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW DYNASTY WARRIORS GUNDAM THAT COMES OUT IN JAPAN LIKE...TOMORROW/TODAY/WHENEVER THE 16TH IS ON THAT SIDE OF THE WORLD. BECAUSE DUO'S IN IT. AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER I'M SUCH A HAPPY FANGIRL IT'S JUST AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH~~ And apparently 00 Gundam people are in it too. SO FUCKING EXCITED YOU HAVE NO IDEA

So had a REALLY interesting weekend...due to all the problems at work. Seriously, my store manager should think twice about leaving me in charge of the store during midnights...especially with all the shit that went down the past three days.

Overview:

☺ Friday: Broke the water line to Frappe machine
☺ Saturday: Broke Cashless software so bad, had to reinstall it
☺ Sunday: Power went out for 5 hours/broke cashless again/BROKE THE INTERNET SO CASHLESS AND STUFF WON'T WORK ANYWAY.

So, that was my epic weekend of FAIL. I'm hoping this coming up weekend will go better and that I'll be faced with less problems.

I really should be sleeping right now, but I'm totally not tired. I'm thinking of just walking up to the bank to deposit my checks/get quarters for laundry. Because I'm not going to want to wake up early to do that and Crystal has to work tonight so she won't wanna drive/wake up too early either. Maybe I'll do that. In before I decide I'm too lazy.

My ankle is slowly getting better though!! I can sorta walk around without any of my braces! Which is a plus because usually, I have to have my "light" one on when I walk around the house. I think I'm going to buy some more work shoes/insoles today or tomorrow too, so that it can keep on this getting better trend. I really just want to walk around like a normal person again...not all gimpified and looking like I need a cane. (although an awesome pimp cane would be nice.)

So...that's about it I think...I'm just rambling now.

May is almost here! CRAP! Nanomango's a little over a month away...and this time last year, I actually had an idea. This year...not so much. I'm thinking of doing Senna's story for it, but then again, I just started writing the story again and I'm not too sure where I'm going with it yet. The next two chapters are still a little iffy before I start really delving into the plot... I just need to outline/get them done and over with.

And get some of my other stories rolling again...it's been close to 8 months since I've touched A Slice of Life, YACAS, YACASII, or really anything else that I'm supposed to be working on. :\ Let alone the fanfiction HOLY SHIT FANFICTION WHAT? that's been in my head for the past two months now... I really wish my muse would cooperate with me instead of fighting against me sometimes. I really, really do. -_- Hopefully this means that I'll actually get something creative done soon, because everything just sorta fell to the side after my tablet decided to stop fucking working.

At least this time I have a camera to take pretty pictures of what I draw instead of my shitty ass scanner that has been kinda temperamental lately... Me and technology have been fighting lately. A lot.

In World of Warcraft news: I HIT 77! AND GOT COLD WEATHER FLYING! Meaning I can fly in Northrend now and I'll be able to level even faster!! /n3rd

In work news: I'm at full time until further notice apparently, because Judi is still out with her fractured hand and even when she comes back, she most likely won't be able to take over shifts right away. So...blah. I've been trying to avoid a situation where I had to be full time again but it seems life isn't always that kind. :\ Ah well. Larger checks here I come! Plus overtime! Because I get to stay over and count truck twice a week if it's there on time. YAY OVERTIME!

That's about it...about to go for a nice morning walk to get the muse going. I hope the moon's still out...it was really pretty earlier so I might take a couple of pictures of it... What can I say? I love the sky. Maybe that's why my head's always in the clouds.

So, since we're supposed to have some guys come out from DTE to put in new faucets/light fixtures, my cat and I are over my mom's. We've been keeping Sonya in Chad's room...because we didn't know what Shadow was going to do. Ends up, it was a good decision because dipshit made me bring Sonya out of the room last night and Shadow was NOT pleased. She keeps hissing at me now and glaring at me. XD Well, I wouldn't have needed to get Sonya if mom let me steal Shadow in the first place when I moved out. even if she was originally Chad's Christmas present that year. I'm such an evil sister!

Although, I totally am remembering why I moved out in the first place. Last night, I regained my position as the gopher for disphit, and I'm surprised. I still remember how to make his tea right, where his cigarettes are in his coat and what pocket, how to make his ice water, and all that. The only thing I REFUSED to do was to get the joint out of the car. I didn't touch the stuff while I did live here, and like hell am I doing so now. Mom's lucky I love her so much or else I wouldn't even spend the night anymore. Because seriously, I hate that man. And the years I have spent out of the house have done NOTHING to quench that burning anger I have for him.

Otherwise, started to play WoW a bit again. Bethany and I are in a race to get to 80, although I'm sure I'll be the one to end up giving her the giant bag of Reese's, but it's okay. It's better than sitting at 70 until Cataclysm finally hits. I can't wait for that expansion...I won't have to play a giant cow to play a Druid! I'll get to be a Goblin! Although that doesn't matter much...I'm usually in boomkin form anyway. :P Or tree form, depending on my spec.

Otherwise, haven't been up to much. Not very excited about having to work Weds. for awhile, but I can handle it. I think. Depends on if I get the right late night people and until when. It's nice that they're FINALLY scheduling me people until like 2, which is when I need the most help quite honestly. Because of system shut down, all the cleaning stuff, and getting the orders out. _-_ Midnights: not a shift for the weak. XD

Well, my 'weekend' went really well this week. Bought a lot of stuff and actually did a couple of things that were productive!

Monday had a manager's meeting, which went alright. I got my performance review and a raise! YAY. Apparently, I'm not sucking as much as I usually do, although that does mean that I fell short of my goal. It was to have the absolute worst times in the store, but apparently my own roommate is beating me by 2 seconds. *sigh* I guess the #2 spot isn't so bad. We went to Applebees (the four of us...out during the day...I swear we're an apartment filled with vampires.) and then BORDERS RUN! I started Yu-Gi-Oh! finally. As much as I love that show, one would think that I would have started that series like, ages ago. And finally bought the last volume of Yu Yu Hakusho. It just still feels so weird that I have completed that series...

Anywho, Tuesday, I did nothing, which was amazing. Every once in awhile, I just need a day where I don't do anything but lie in bed and play online, sleep, read, draw, and watch anime. It's very nice and a good way to recharge the old batteries.

Wednesday, renewed my state I.D., since it expired on my birthday and I finally had the will to sit in the Secretary of State office. Ug. I hate going there, it's always so boring and everyone always glares at each other. Like the old couple that were sitting across from me. Very uncomfortable for reading manga in, no matter how hard I tried to ignored them. Went to the mall afterwords, one of my roommates needing to buy some work pants, bought some shirts, and more manga. Junjou Romantica is now almost complete, started Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, vol. 5 of Silver Diamond, and THEY FINALLY HAD THE FIRST VOLUME OF KUROSHITSUJI!!!!!! Oh, and the first two volumes of Soul Eater. ^^ I have a lot of manga to occupy my time with at the moment.

Played Dungeons and Dragons on Wed. too, our DM's first run!! Although we paused about halfway into it because we were all getting tired, our group was almost taken out by three swarms of rats. We killed the dire rats no problem, but those swarms...little bitches. For some reason, we would roll really low on them. :\ That and my wolf kept biting people...evil little thing. :D

So, that's about it. Hopefully work isn't too bad tonight. ^^

So, nothing's really been going on lately. Well, nothing terribly important anyway. Oh, although I did end up failing epically at trying to sync my laptop and desktop together, mostly since I moved a lot of files around to my public folder, synced them, and tried to move them back. Somewhere in that translation, I ended up deleting all 14 gigs of music, which means that I'm still trying to remember what the hell I downloaded. Although I did end up with a few more albums, which I still need to transfer over, but that's gonna be done the next time I feel like messing with it. Mostly because I sorta lost the will to do it when I look at my pitiful list and what I knew it once was.

That day was just epic anyway. I mean, bras don't just break right? That night was "fun" at work too since I didn't have the keys to the back door/roof that the stacks guys needed to you know, do their job and clean stuff.

Other than that, joined NaNoEdMo to hopefully get some of my NaNo edited. Because for anyone who's read that tripe, it needs it badly. Especially the part where I'm at now, because my characters are all over the place in their characterizations and then there's the engagement thing that needs to go bye-bye because where it made for great word count...it just complicates an already complicated part of the plot and it's not needed. Plus, it makes Isabelle suddenly conform to society's norms and she...wouldn't do that. At all.

Art's been...bland lately. I guess I dropped the ball this week, I'm hoping to get back to doing actual drawings instead of the little random pages. As fun as they are, I've been doing them for too long and I really think my attention span has dropped another percent, as I can't really focus on anything unless the idea is really bothering me. I'm blaming the really nice weather that's gonna be here for the next few days. I can't wait until it starts raining~

So...I think I'm gonna see if there are any fics that I can delve into in any of my shiny new comms. Gundam 00 fandom has sucked me in, and I don't wanna be saved. XD

Lets see, nothing to really talk about except last night at work. I seriously took 5 complaints, one of which wasn't even our store. But because of Ray Crock's dumbass, we have to say sorry and replace it. The bitch didn't even leave her name, so the chances it will be replaced are even more slim, which suits me just fine. But whatever. The other complaints were actually civil human beings that understand that mistakes happen. Although it would be nice not to take other shift's complaints. Mostly since that way I'd be able verify that they actually ordered at the store and blah blah blah. That's not the most fun part.

So I was going through system shut down when suddenly the quarter's profit came up, which never happened before. And then I get an error message of Possible PMIX error, which means that the sandwich count in the system could be screwed up. Not a good thing as we use those for the next week's product charts to make sure that we keep food in proper quantities. Not that it ever helps since every day is different, but I guess that they try. Anyway, so I'm doing my paper work, the daily close goes through without a hitch, and the register starts to act up. First, by saying there's a general error (which made me want to throw the damn thing out the window) and then the collector's register begins to not respond/tells me there are no orders in the system when I can see them clearly on the 'runner's screen', which is the screen that tells us the orders that we need to bag up and get them out.

So I get to call the company that deals with all that crap and play with the registers for a half an hour as we get slammed and take all the orders by hand. It's bad enough when we get slammed, but I was just in the service people's way and there was no way for me to jump on grill to help out my lone grill person. So, after trying a bunch of different ways, the guy finally finds the solution and everything works again. However, it was 15 minutes until breakfast when everything was finally figured out, so I had to go back on grill anyway and help get breakfast ready.

I'm so happy that afternoons had all their dishes done. Or else I would most likely still be there. XD I hadn't touched dishes all night because we were slammed, although it just clicked that the Super Bowl is on tonight. And it's in the eastern time zone. Damnit. Can't I have an easy night this weekend? Please? That's all I want.

Looks like I'll have to suck it up. :P

Otherwise, been playing with my shitty tablet again, a new driver came out and it at least helps the sensitivity a little, to where I can take the pen off the damn thing and it won't try to draw more lines. But the shaking thing's still happening. :\ I can't wait until I get my taxes done so that I can get my ass a new tablet that doesn't blow chunks. or have a hardware problem of some sort. Any suggestions?
